Himachal Pradesh also called Abode of Snow is a land of mysteries with so much to explore and so much to discover. Despite our knowledge, we are not familiar with many things about this state which are quite strange and intriguing. So here are few facts about Himachal Pradesh:-

· Kasol, A small Himalayan Village 

In Kullu District also known as
Mini Israel because majority of 
tourist inflow here, is from Israel. 
It is fast emerging hub for
 backpackers, Trekkers and
 Nature lover.

· Malana villagers claim to be the world's oldest democracy with a well organized parliamentary system by their Deity Jamlu Devta.

          Police intervention is not allowed in Malana village except certain cases and outsiders cannot touch their temples.

 ·       Kalka - Shimla Railway or Toy Train and The Great Himalayan National Park  , has been declared as a world Heritage site by the UNESCO.

  ·   Himachal is known as" Dev Bhoomi "  "The Land Of God" because every village has its own deity. Each deity has a story behind it which add curiosity and interest.

·       Kibber Village  in Spiti valley is believed to be Highest motorable village in the world.

    · The world’s highest post office is in Hikkim, Lahul-Spiti.

·  Mandi is known for its 81 old 
stone temples and is often called the 

Varanasi Of Himachal" or "Kashi of Hills" or 'Chhoti Kashi".

·  Spiti is considered one of the most fossil rich areas in the world by the Geological Survey of India and Geological Society of America as it was once a part of the southern Tethys Sea. Langza,  village in spiti is known as Fossil village.

·       A 1995 kg Khichdi dish made

     from rice and lentils, prepared in Tattapani Mandi, by the Department of Tourism in association with Durga devi Bihari lal Charitable trust, entered the Guinness book of the world records on 14^th Jan, 2020.

·  Greatest number of people attending and participating in a Natti dance at Kullu, Dashehra at a single venue, entered the Guianese book of World Record.

·       Khajjiar a small Hill station in Himachal Pradesh id known as Mini Switzerland.

·       Solan is Known as Mashroom city of India.

·       Himachal is second largest producer of Apple after Jammu & Kashmir in India.

·     The largest cricket ground of the world is in Chail which is in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

·       Tashigang, a small Himachal Pradesh Village in Lahul Spiti is 
the world's Highest Polling station.

· Himachal Pradesh is the first state to Have E-Vidhan sabha.

·       Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh has the cleanest air in the country.

   

   

      ·       Spiti valley is home to Asia's Highest bridge, Chicham Bridge with the height of 13596ft and it connect Chicham and Kibber village.

·       Gaiety Theater was designed by Henry Irvin on the model of Royal Albert Hall, London and was built 

    in 1887. It resembles with Royal Albert Hall, London. 

  
     

     ·       Himachal Pradesh was declared to  be the first Smoke free state in India   in 2013.


   

· Production, usage, sale or distribution of polythene bags in Himachal Pradesh are banned

  under law as of 2nd October, 2009.

  

    

     ·       Asia's oldest and South Asia's only Natural ice skating rink is in Shimla.

· Himachal Pradesh is known as

 Fruit bowl of India as it produces wide range of fruits.

   

   ·       Himachal Pradesh also has its own IIT in Mandi.

·       In 1960, The Central

     Tibetan Administartion makes Dharamshala the center and Headquarter of the Tibetan exile in India. 

     McleodGanj is also Known as 

   " Mini Lahasa".

 

  ·       India’s First Iglu stay destination is in Manali and second is in  Seraj valley, Mandi. Both are in Himachal Pradesh.
